I have to talk About my 6 week shred.
About 6 months ago I got thinking about what clients really want. Being a personal trainer we think about our one to ones but what about those clients who don't want a one to one. They go to the gym, they might go to classes but they're not seeing the results they want!!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but to get results it all comes down to our nutrition. Making sure we're eating, sleeping and keeping hydrated. I created the shred to help people keep on track and live a balanced lifestyle. I don't restrict calories to an obscene amount, you will have a protein and calorie goal that you will reach each day and you will need to track all food and drink. This can seem daunting and people don't want to get fixated on calories. But to get results you need to know what you put into your body. If you want to lose weight you HAVE to be in a calorie defiency and the only way is to track to ensure you are below your Maintance calories. It's actually very interesting to see what is in food, it can be a very healthy way to see what nutritents are in meals. Look at tracking in a positive way, it's teaching you about what we eat. No food is off limits we just need to stick to our goal.
Another goal Is to drink 2 litres of water a day. Some people find this goal very easy and others it's a challenge, I recommend buying a large bottle that you can drink throughout the day. You can infuse the water with fruit if this helps you consume more.
Our third goal is a ten thousand step target per day. It's all about keeping the body active. This can be an easy target for some as there job allows them to be very active, for others this can be challenging, but having a walk on your lunch break. Parking furthest away at the supermarket or at work can all be tools to help you achieve your goal.
Let's talk workouts.... we have a minimum of three workouts to complete for the week (some of you might workout a lot more, that's an added bonus) you will have access to a variety of different workouts for the 6 weeks and there will also be a live workout each week.
Each shred I create a WhatsApp group for all the shredders, this is great as we all post recipe ideas, workout pictures to help motivate and keep us all accountable. The shred is all about high fives and cheering each other to achieve results.
I like to incorporate mindfulness into the shred. Each week we will do a live meditation, some breath work or a long stretch. Well-being goes hand in hand with exercise and I love to incorporate the two.
